Cheeseburger Focaccia

This Cheeseburger Focaccia combines the best of both worlds: fluffy, olive oil-soaked focaccia topped with all your favorite cheeseburger flavors like caramelized onions, seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and burger sauce. It’s a bread-heavy, comfort food dinner that’s indulgent in the best way possible.

Ingredients

  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil plus ore for oiling the pan
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 yellow onions thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • burger sauce, pickles, mustard, all burger toppings

Instructions

  • Follow the Bon Appetit instructions for no-knead focacccia bread - this is hands down the best and easiest focaccia recipe.
  • Right before baking your bread and once you had it in the 9x13 pan. Brown your ground beef and carmelized your onions. In a large skilled add onions to pan with 2-3 tablespoons butter, cook over medium low heat until soft and golden brown. Set aside and in the same skillet add ground beef and brown evenly. Season with salt and pepper.
  • sprinkle bread with camelized onions, ground beef and cheese. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 25-35 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Slice into big squares, top with burger sauce, pickles, etc. Enjoy :)
